Not as good as I'd hoped

I DO have arthritis in my hands, and while the handle is big and wide, it is also clumsy and hard to maneuver.
The tip of the peeler, intended for removing the eyes on potatoes and blemishes on apples, is NOT metal, but plastic, like the handle. It is USELESS, so you have to keep a paring knife handy.
The blade seems sharp enough, but mind you, it is NEW.
I think my old swivel peeler is lighter, less clumsy and easier to clean. There seems to be no advantage to this OXO utensil, and it takes up more room in the drawer.
This is not one of my stellar purchases from Amazon.
cutting area too small

I just purchased this one, and after 1st use, cut my finger. "Why?" might you ask, because the area is too small that you peel with. It is inset between the parts that hold the blade. This MIGHT be good for carrots, but if you have a large potato or one with a flat side, it is very ineffective.
OK, but the Rada is much better

I bought this peeler years ago and didn't think much of a peeler. I had issues with the handle sliding back occasionally while using, handle filling with water and getting smelly and peels getting stuck in the "D" design, making it a bit annoying to clean. The handle being fat, to me, is clumsy to use and takes up too much space in the drawer. I really had to push hard to get the fat plastic eye remover to dig into the potato.
One day it was missing, never to be found again. I knew I wasn't going to order that one again and I found the Rada peeler for about the same price. The blade is stainless steel, super sharp (Sharper than the OXO), the eye remover is fantastic, the handle is small and light aluminum. I find because it is not so bulky, the work is much lighter and quicker. It looks much better, is way easer to clean, and takes up practically no space in the drawer.
Excellent Peeler for everything!

I love this peeler. All I eat pretty much is fruits and vegetables so a good peeler is very important. I can peel mangoes with this, make zucchini pasta, and many other things. Best of all, it's inexpensive and relatively safe to use.
Strudy, Sharp, Great

Yup, this is a great peeler. The handle is sturdy and feels good in the hand. The "grips" help avoid slippage with your wet, kitchen hands. Swivel action helps when peeling uneven surfaces (think potatoes). The guard over the top of the blade aids in gripping and safety.
The peeler I had before this was some cheap little thing I got at the grocery store. It's definitely worth a few extra bucks to get a real peeler. Especially if you love sweet potato mash as much as I do!
