works most of the time

When it mists, it really sprays a very fine mist (particles are so small that they stays in the air for a while)--so that could be messy and unwieldy if that's not what you were hoping for. I still haven't got a good hang of the pump--sometimes the oil comes out as a stream for a few seconds before becoming a mist.
I still prefer this over the aerosol cans though. The design is simple and attractive. I haven't tried putting anything other than regular olive oil in it. I use it for spraying baking pans and for covering veggies with a light coat of oil.
Oil mister with some slight problems

This mister is basically a glass jar with a special top pump; it's nice you can see the liquid and quantity left; the pump works, but usually the first or second squirt is in a stream; then it changes to a mist. (So always aim it somewhere to test it before you aim it at your pan or whatever.) I think the top leaks slightly as I often have a little residue on my hand after using the unit (and yes, I checked to make sure the the top was completely screwed on). One complaint is the unit took over a month to arrive, so don't expect quick delivery.
As Compared To The Misto...

I've only owed one other brand of oil mister aside from this one. So That is what I will compare it to:
1) The greatest difference I noticed was in the way they sprayed. The Prepara Oil Mister sprays out the oil coating a much wider coverage area. So you don't have to pump nearly as much to coat a pan.
2) Like the Mist, the Prepara Oil Mister tends to drip the oil out if you don't hold it at the right angle. But this does not happen as frequently with the Prepara Mister.
3) The Prepara Oil Mister is much more attractive. And I actually liked it so much I bought another one for table-top salad dressing.
And so, I've only owned one other brand aside from this one. This one is a much better by even though it is more expensive. Plus, its BPa-free.

Just leaving a little note. I have used this product atleast 5 times a week and have had it for 6 months.
The oil I use is organic canola because it's a lighter oil.
Have had no problems.

love this mister. Had a Misto but it wore out pretty quickly, with the plastic parts just wearing down and it was hard to clean. When it finally died, I was just going to replace it with another Misto but then saw this one and thought I'd give it a try. Well it's so much better than the Misto in every regard, sprays more evenly, better design, easier to keep clean, high quality materials so should last longer. No problems with clogging and I like that it's glass. Buy it, you won't be disappointed!
