The Bodum Pavina Double Wall Shot Glass is 2 ounces in size and can be used for cold or warm beverages. Its unique design is appealing to the eye when filled with your favorite beverage. With its double layer of borosilicate glass it appears as though the liquid is 'floating' within the glass. They will not sweat when filled with a cold beverage, so you will not have to use a coaster. These mouth blown glasses are an exciting product for any home, restaurant, or cafe and they are a definite conversation piece. Bodum’s insulated glassware is made from durable Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass traditionally used to make scientific lab glass. Stronger than traditional “soda-lime” glass, borosilicate can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware. Borosilicate glass substitutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in everyday glassware. The boron oxide acts as the glue holding the silicate together. Due to small size of boron particles, the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger, lighter glass. Borosilicate glass doesn’t need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong due to the bonding capability boron oxide. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is resistant to temperature swings, In addition to being dishwasher safe borosilicate will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 1,000 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it.

1. Disappointing New Version

   I had a pair of the old single sealed piece of glass design, which are probably the coolest looking bit of kitchenware I've ever owned. They're also quite functional; the outside stays cool even with espresso brewed directly into them. I broke one of the pair (own fault, fumbled it into the sink) and decided to order two more. The new ones are really disappointing; now instead of a single piece of sealed glass there is a hole in the bottom sealed with silicone (or some other similar translucent substance). Aside from looking tacky (and let's be honest; the main selling point is that they look cool), the new construction is less sound (the plug traps dirt, and feels like it might peel out), and less well insulated (I think the old ones were partially evacuated).
   I'd buy more of the old ones in a second, but these are mediocre.

   I am Brazilian and not fully fluent in English. So, in order not to damage the performance of this EXCELLENT product, I'll just say what I just said! Excellent: I Recommend it. And do not forget: Get the glass and use Brazilian coffee!!!

   The insulation of these cups helps keep the espresso hot and they appear to be quite sturdy. Work perfectly for the job intended.
